Tips And Tricks To Using This App NetLabMT

NetLabMT is a networking lab that runs entirely on your phone.
You build the topology, configure each device, and run the traffic to see, step by step, what the network does with it. It doesn't need internet, an account, a server, or any special permissions: the simulation happens right here.

It's not just an animation with decorative buttons. Every option you see changes the behavior of the simulation engine, and what happens next can be read in the event log.

WHAT YOU CAN BUILD

• Topologies with PCs, laptops, phones, servers, switches, access points, routers, IP cameras, printers, IoT devices, and a simulated cloud: 39 device families in total.

• Cabling by tap or drag, with 37 different media: Ethernet, Wi-Fi by band, OS1/OS2 and OM1 to OM5 fiber, GPON and XGS-PON, serial, USB, OBD-II, cellular, satellite, Powerline, Zigbee, BTLE, and IrDA.

• Nine sample labs with verifiable objectives, from a dual-stack home network to a campus network with VLANs and STP.

WHAT YOU CAN CONFIGURE

• Complete home router: LAN and WAN, DHCP with pool and duration, Wi-Fi radio with SSID, key, band, and channel, NAT/PAT, service advertising via port forwarding, and firewall with connection tracking.

• Managed switching with access and trunk VLANs, STP, and QoS.

• Dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, static routes, and routes learned by RIPv2 and OSPFv2.

• Programmable signal loss, latency, jitter, MTU, and failures to see how the network behaves when something goes wrong.

WHAT YOU CAN OBSERVE

• Ping, IPv6 ping, and traceroute from any device, choosing the destination
from the real addresses on your network.

• Interface tables, ARP, routes, MAC addresses, DHCP leases, DNS records,
Wi-Fi associations, NAT sessions, and firewall decisions.

• The complete event trace, which can be reviewed event by event with the virtual clock paused.

• Export to PCAP to open the capture in your usual analyzer.

• A one-touch diagnostic tool that runs DHCP, DNS, and ping and explains where the chain was broken.

HOW IT WORKS

The simulation is deterministic: the same topology, the same configuration, and the same seed produce exactly the same result, so an exercise can be repeated and corrected. The lab is automatically saved and restored when
the application is reopened, and can be exported and imported as a file.

PRIVACY

NetLabMT does not request internet access, does not open connections, does not collect data, and does not run ads or analytics. The networks you see are simulated: the app does not access your phone's real network or anyone else's.
Set up networks, configure routers, and monitor every packet. Without internet access or permissions.
